I recently commented that you can't fix homicidal maniacs with gun control laws and it got me to thinking. What It is the purpose of any law. To set limits on behavior. The law breakers have never respected the law and have continued to do what they want anyway so what was the point. What purpose does a law have when large portions of the population don't want it.
Maybe I don't have the education or the wisdom to understand the issue but I am really confused by this. If traffic accidents increase we enact laws designed to make driving safer. Speed limits, seat belts, air bags, insurance. We don't ban or limit the size of the car you can own. If gas was 25 cents a gallon we would all still be driving cars the size of 57 Chevy's . As gas has gone up the size of cars and car engines have gone down.
Now since apparently the majority of the population are to dumb to live, we have to pass safety laws to protect the morons from themselves. Coffee is labeled "Hot" If you text while you drive you will run into stuff. Hell, if you text while you walk you will run into stuff. If you have unprotected sex your pecker will rot off, you will suffer and then die! Or worse, you will become a parent! Actions have consequences.
Very few problems in this country have ever been solved with another law.( Marijuana laws) have given us the world's largest prison system. The good people already behave and the bad people do what the hell they want. Who is the law for? Oh, we pass it so you will get into trouble. I think crazy bastards walking around a school or a theater is already trouble. Making sure no one can return fire is not a solution it is stupid. Do these gun control assholes read the newspaper or read the headlines on the internet. It is a bad world out there. You could ban all guns and that wouldn't prevent the bad people from having guns. It would just make the rest of us defenseless. Stupid.

I know a lot of people and they don't meddle with my life. I show the same consideration; mostly because we have a mutual respect for our privacy and would never harm another.
ReplyDeleteHow this typical arrangement is rarely taken in consideration by some media groups, politicians and bureaucrats is beyond me. All they have to do is pay a little closer to the people around and spend less time admiring themselves in the mirror.
